Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Electric Power , Consumption and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Petroreconcavo SA (BVMF: RECV3 ), which rose 7.41% or 1.17 points to trade at 16.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Vale SA (BVMF: VALE3 ) added 3.68% or 2.05 points to end at 57.74 and Totvs SA (BVMF: TOTS3 ) was up 3.08% or 1.05 points to 35.09 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF: VAMO3 ), which fell 5.57% or 0.28 points to trade at 4.75 at the close. Gerdau SA Pref (BVMF: GGBR4 ) declined 5.36% or 0.93 points to end at 16.43 and Metalurgica Gerdau SA (BVMF: GOAU4 ) was down 4.92% or 0.47 points to 9.09.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 495 to 445 and 61 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gerdau SA Pref (BVMF: GGBR4 ) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.36% or 0.93 to 16.43. Shares in Totvs SA (BVMF: TOTS3 ) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.08% or 1.05 to 35.09. Shares in Metalurgica Gerdau SA (BVMF: GOAU4 ) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.92% or 0.47 to 9.09.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.18% to 28.67.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.64% or 18.70 to $2,954.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.51% or 0.37 to hit $72.47 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 6.03% or 24.85 to trade at $387.05 .
USD/BRL was down 0.35% to 5.70, while EUR/BRL rose 0.42% to 5.99.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.77% at 106.24.
