Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Other Electronic and Machinery sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 1.19%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were TSEC Corp (TW: 6443 ), which rose 9.84% or 1.85 points to trade at 20.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Sinkang Industries Co Ltd (TW: 2032 ) added 9.84% or 1.85 points to end at 20.65 and Lan Fa Textile Co Ltd (TW: 1459 ) was up 9.13% or 1.05 points to 12.55 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Posiflex Technology Inc (TW: 8114 ), which fell 7.25% or 24.50 points to trade at 313.50 at the close. Uniflex Technology Inc (TW: 3321 ) declined 6.85% or 1.10 points to end at 14.95 and Shin Tai Industry Co Ltd (TW: 1235 ) was down 6.60% or 6.20 points to 87.70.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Sinkang Industries Co Ltd (TW: 2032 ) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.84% or 1.85 to 20.65. Shares in Lan Fa Textile Co Ltd (TW: 1459 ) rose to 3-years highs; up 9.13% or 1.05 to 12.55.

Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.22% or 0.15 to $69.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.19% or 0.14 to hit $72.64 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.31% or 8.97 to trade at $2,927.77 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.09% to 32.80, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 106.45.
