Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services , Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.11% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Semapa (ELI: SEM ), which rose 1.69% or 0.26 points to trade at 15.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS SA (ELI: ALSS ) added 1.50% or 0.09 points to end at 6.11 and Sonae SGPS SA (ELI: YSO ) was up 1.13% or 0.01 points to 1.07 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galp Energia Nom (ELI: GALP ), which fell 1.38% or 0.23 points to trade at 16.06 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI: EDPR ) declined 0.77% or 0.06 points to end at 7.75 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI: NVGR ) was down 0.30% or 0.01 points to 3.28.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.26% or 0.19 to $74.68 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.39% or 0.28 to hit $71.48 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.76% or 23.91 to trade at $3,169.91 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 103.44.
